On July 16, Azerbaijan officially introduced the "Single Window" Information System – Digital Logistics Platform, designed to unify data, services, and processes for foreign trade operations into a single digital ecosystem.
The event brought together heads and representatives of state institutions, business sector representatives, logistics companies, and members of the media.
It was noted during the event that the platform was established by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport in accordance with Decree No. 547 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dated December 15, 2025. By integrating data, services, and document workflows related to import, export, transit, and transport operations into a unified digital environment, the new system offers simpler, transparent, and traceable services for participants in foreign economic activities.
Addressing the event, Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), noted that the "Single Window" Digital Logistics Platform could significantly contribute to further improving Azerbaijan's transport services balance. He highlighted that in the first quarter of 2026, transport services accounted for 30 percent of the total turnover of mutual services in Azerbaijan's balance of payments. Of the transport services, which were valued at 1.3 billion US dollars, 69 percent was generated by non-residents utilizing Azerbaijan's transport services.
The CAERC Executive Director added that during the reporting period, exports of transport services in the non-oil and gas sector increased by 24.5 percent compared to the same period last year, while imports decreased by 10.6 percent. As a result, the surplus in transport services rose by 54.4 percent to reach 500 million US dollars. This dynamic demonstrates that transport services have become a stable and increasingly significant strategic direction contributing to Azerbaijan's services balance.
According to the speakers, the platform simplifies procedures, saves time and costs, and serves to further improve the business environment by unifying logistics processes into a single digital ecosystem. The platform holds great significance in further strengthening Azerbaijan's transit potential and building more efficient supply chains. In the long run, this will positively impact the competitiveness of the business environment, strengthen the country's transit capabilities, and contribute to the formation of a more agile and sustainable foreign trade ecosystem.
During the event, Rahman Hummatov, Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport; Natiq Shirinov, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan; and Ehtiram Quliyev, Project Manager of the "Single Window" Digital Logistics Platform, also delivered speeches.
Subsequently, a presentation of the "Single Window" Information System was delivered, giving participants the opportunity to view the system’s operations firsthand.
