Cargo transit time along Trans-Caspian International Transport Route halved
Astana, February 9, AZERTAC
Last year was marked by the active development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, Middle Corridor), especially in the container transportation sector, Nurgul Zhakupova, Acting Secretary General of the TITR Association, told AZERTAC.
According to her, in 2025, the total volume of container transportation reached 76,900 TEU, which is 36% more than in 2024.
Zhakupova said 433 container trains operated along the TITR during the reporting period. The traffic was heavily weighted toward the East-West corridor with 400 trains, while 33 moved in the West-East direction, which serves as clear evidence of the route's growing regularity and operational resilience.
"Moreover, one of the main factors behind this positive trend was the reduction in the delivery time of container trains by half - to 12-15 days, except during the winter period," she added.
