Euronews Academy launches operations in Azerbaijan in collaboration with Media Development Agency & Euronews TV

Euronews Academy, an international training platform, has launched its operations in Azerbaijan through a collaboration between the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Euronews, one of Europe’s leading television news channels.
Speaking at the event, Fernando Soares, Executive Director of Euronews in Baku, emphasized that the program aims to equip young journalists with knowledge and skills aligned with international standards and to shape them into professionals capable of addressing current challenges in the information environment. He stressed that the project would make a significant contribution to the production of high-quality, objective journalism that adheres to ethical principles.
Natig Mammadli, Deputy Executive Director of the Media Development Agency, highlighted that such international platforms play a crucial role in enhancing professionalism in the media sector, promoting modern journalism standards, and fostering the acquisition of new skills in the digital era.
The first day of the five-day training program began with a session on "Digital Journalism." Participants were introduced to the core principles of news gathering, data analysis, and fact-based journalism in the digital environment by Tuba Altunkaya, a renowned expert from Euronews TV with nearly 15 years of experience in international news.
The event continued with interactive lectures, practical exercises, group discussions, and text and video analysis.
The training program will run until June 27.
