Pakistan condemns US attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities
Islamabad, Hilal Ahmad, June 23, AZERTAC
Pakistan has condemned the United States' attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, which followed a series of strikes by Israel. In a statement, the spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed grave concern over the potential further escalation of tensions in the region, stressing that these attacks violate all norms of international law and that Iran has the legitimate right to defend itself under the UN Charter.
"The unprecedented escalation of tensions and violence, resulting from the ongoing aggression against Iran, is deeply disturbing. Any further escalation will have severely damaging implications for the region and beyond," the spokesperson added.
The Ministry emphasized the urgent need to respect civilian lives and property and to immediately bring the conflict to an end. All parties must comply with international law, particularly International Humanitarian Law.
The spokesperson also underscored that dialogue and diplomacy, in line with the principles and purposes of the UN Charter, remain the only viable pathways to resolving the crises in the region.
