Baku hosts Sixth All-Republican Forum of Azerbaijani Children

Baku, December 5, AZERTAC

The Sixth All-Republican Forum of Azerbaijani Children, co-organized by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs and the Ministry of Science and Education, was held in Baku on Thursday.
The forum, themed "Children and Ecology," opened with the national anthem of Azerbaijan and a moment of silence for National Leader Heydar Aliyev and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
It featured a performance by the “Natig” Rhythm Group and videos on the “Green World Solidarity Year” and “Azerbaijani Children.”
Farah Aliyeva, Head of the Department of Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism and Religious Issues of the Presidential Administration, read President Ilham Aliyev's message to the event participants.
Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs, described the forum as a platform to address the challenges of today and the future, and to contribute to creating a better society. She highlighted the return of families and children to their ancestral lands in the liberated territories, thanks to large-scale restoration efforts.
Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Science and Education, emphasized the importance of preserving Azerbaijani identity, culture, and values, while Rauf Hajiyev, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, discussed the impact of climate change.
Saja Farooq Abdullah, UNICEF Representative in Azerbaijan, highlighted the climate crisis as a child rights issue, noting that children are disproportionately affected by climate change despite being the least responsible for it.
The forum also featured the premiere of a new children’s anthem, “Victory Kids” (“Zəfər uşaqları”). The event gathered 300 children from across Azerbaijan and Türkiye, along with representatives from relevant state bodies and international organizations.
The forum continued its work with panel discussions.
As part of the event, children held discussions on topics such as children's rights, new standards in education, online safety, healthy lifestyles, environmental protection, and climate health, making relevant proposals.
In conclusion, the forum participants' appeal to President Ilham Aliyev was read, along with an appeal to the children of Azerbaijan on behalf of the forum participants.
