COP29: Azerbaijan, connecting the globe - PHOTO REPORT
Baku, November 14, AZERTAC
In the time of Emperor Julius Caesar, it was famously said, "All roads lead to Rome." Today, if we say that all roads lead to Baku, we are likely not exaggerating. Influential representatives from countries all around the world, from sunrise to sunset and from north to south, have gathered in the capital of Azerbaijan to confront the ecological threats facing humanity. Delegates from nearly every nation, representing all religions and races, are united here. Together, they are focused on one global issue—reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 35% by 2030 and by 40% by 2050.
Although its geographical size is modest, the Land of Fire has become a hub where climate experts and ecologists from across the globe have gathered with a common purpose. Today, Baku stands at the forefront, seeking solutions to challenges that concern all of humanity.
This is what brings together people from Central Europe, across the oceans, from Australia, far-reaching Africa, and island nations…
COP29 has welcomed representatives from 196 countries, including 80 presidents, as well as vice-presidents and prime ministers.
