Azerbaijani, Georgian Defense Ministers mull military cooperation

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with Minister of Defense of Georgia Irakli Chikovani in Batumi, Georgia, the Ministry of Defence told AZERTAC.
During the meeting held with representatives of both countries, Irakli Chikovani emphasized the important role of the meetings between the heads of the two states in the development of Azerbaijani-Georgian relations.
Expressing satisfaction with the visit to the fraternal country, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov noted that relations in the military sphere, as in other areas, are constantly developing.
Azerbaijan Defense Minister highlighted that the organization of mutual visits and meetings in various formats is a vivid example of the high-level cooperation between the countries.
The sides discussed prospects for military cooperation between the countries and had a detailed exchange of views on increasing the intensity of joint exercises. They also highlighted the support for the territorial integrity of the countries recognized at the international level.
Then the sides discussed in detail issues of ensuring peace and security in the region, prospects for the development of cooperation in the military, military-technical, and military-educational fields, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
