Academician Nizami Jafarov: We support adopting common alphabet of Turkic world
Baku, September 9, AZERTAC
“From the outset, some scholars have attempted to approach the adoption of a common alphabet for the Turkic world from a political perspective. But I think this is not the case. So we fully support creating a common alphabet for the Turkic world,” said Academician Nizami Jafarov, Head of the Ataturk Center of Azerbaijan as he addressed the third meeting of the Turkic World Common Alphabet Commission held today in Baku.
Speaking about the phonetic differences between the Turkic languages, Jafarov proposed less differentiation and more integration in establishing a common alphabet of the Turkic world.
