Azerbaijan’s Hasrat Jafarov (67kg) has progressed to the quarterfinals of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after claiming a thumping 9:0 victory over Egyptian Mohamed Elsayed in the 1/8 final.
He will next face Moldovan Valentin Petic in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, Rafig Huseynov (87kg) will test his strength against Hungarian David Losonczi in the 1/8 final and Sanan Suleymanov (77kg) will compete for a bronze medal against Kyrgyz Akzhol Makhmudov.
