Azerbaijani chess players grabbed a silver medal at the European Universities Chess Championship 2024, held as part of the European Universities Games taking place from July 12-24 in Debrecen-Miskolc, Hungary.
The team consisting of Vugar Manafov and Elmar Atakishiyev ranked second in the blitz competitions.
The team also triumphed in the rapid open team tournament, rolling past 17 teams with 15 points after 9 rounds.
