Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization visited Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) on Friday to meet Rector Adalat Muradov and the teaching staff. The meeting was joined by Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashirli and Permanent Representative of Turkiye to the WTO, Chairman of the Working Party on Azerbaijan Alparslan Acarsoy.
Adalat Muradov emphasized the importance of the meeting. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala discussed measures to expedite Azerbaijan's process of becoming a WTO member, citing Uzbekistan's experience as a reference point. During the session, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Samad Bashirli, and Alparslan Acarsoy also answered questions from the participants.
