Chelsea’s Players’ Player of the Year goes to the least surprising winner ever
Baku, May 8, AZERTAC
Chelsea have just announced the club’s Men’s Player of the Year award, and it’s one of the biggest upsets in history, according to Chelsea News.
Against all odds, Malang Sarr, who has been training with the reserves all season, has been selected as the club’s top. The winner is of course Cole Palmer. He was given the award by Conor Gallagher, which is fitting given the midfielder’s industry did so much to create the platform for Palmer to do so well this season.
The numbers are just crazy. We’ve heard them all before, but they bear repeating now. After arriving on deadline day (to a decidedly mixed reaction), the now 22 year old has racked up an insane 37 combined goals and assists in all competitions. Honestly, if you’d told us he would get 20, we’d have called that a great debut season.
This has of course led to his first senior England call up, with many more sure to follow. In the space of 9 months, he’s transformed himself from a player who looked like a bit of a wasted talent on the bench at Man City to a key figure for Chelsea, and a potential starter at the Euros this summer. This award is just the start.
