International Renewable Energy Agency’s 14th Assembly wraps up

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) wrapped up on Friday its 14th Assembly on the theme “Outcome of COP28: Infrastructure, Policies, and Skills for Tripling Renewables and Accelerating the Energy Transition” in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates.
AZERTAC’s correspondent dispatched to the UAE reports that the last panel session, entitled “Policies and Skills for an Accelerated Energy Transition”, was moderated by Melinda Crane, experienced TV anchor at Deutsche Welle.
IRENA Director-General Francesco La Camera, as well as Vice President of the IRENA 14th Assembly, Head of the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Policy and Sustainable Development Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Economy Margalita Arabidze addressed the panel session.
Minister of Environment, Energy and Regeneration of the Port of Valletta of Malta Miriam Dalli, Director for the Environment Directorate of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Jo Tyndall also joined the session.
Discussions primarily focused on the elimination of the skilled labor shortage, education and professional training, as well as the involvement of young personnel in the field of renewable energy sources.
Then the participants reviewed the agenda of the IRENA’s 15th Assembly.
In their closing remarks, IRENA Director-General Francesco La Camera and President of the Assembly, Minister of Infrastructure of Rwanda Jimmy Gasore expressed gratitude to the participants for their active participation in the Assembly’s 14th session.
“It has been an honour and great pleasure for Rwanda to Preside over the 14th session of the IRENA Assembly. Together, we can usher in a brighter tomorrow, powered by the limitless potential of renewable” said President Jimmy Gasore.
