Azerbaijani international law expert Asaf Askar has sent an open letter to President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen regarding the trilateral meeting between the U.S., the European Union and Armenia held in Brussels on April 5, 2024, Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Diaspora told AZERTAC.
According to the Committee, the Azerbaijani law expert described the allocation of 270 million euros the by European Union and 65 million dollars by the USA in aid to Armenia as illogical.
In his letter, Asaf Askar mentioned that Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has made many declarations but has not fulfilled them. The law expert condemned the provision of aid by the European Union and the U.S. to Armenia, noting that this behavior impedes peace and reconciliation in the South Caucasus.
The expert mentioned that although Europe wants peace in the Caucasus, yet France arms Armenia.
“Despite all this injustice, Azerbaijan has independently restored its territorial integrity and will continue to protect and maintain it,” the Azerbaijani law expert added.
