Russia sanctions 56 Canadian nationals — Foreign Ministry

Baku, March 23, AZERTAC

Russia entered fifty-six Canadian nationals into the sanction list, TASS reports citing the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"In response to sanctions continuously introduced by the liberal government of Justin Trudeau against Russian senior officials, representatives of the business community, academic circles and the civil society, and all those out of favor with official Ottawa patronizing the pro-Nazi regime, the entry to the Russian Federation is closed on a permanent basis for 56 Canadian citizens," the ministry said.

"Russia introduced personal sanctions against the senior management of certain companies in the Canadian defense industry segment," the Foreign Ministry noted. Representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada were also added to the sanction list.
