Baku, March 15, AZERTACAzerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov has met with Deputy to the Director-General and Managing Director of the Directorate of Global Partnerships and External Relations at UNIDO Fatou Haidara.The sides praised the effective cooperation of Azerbaijan with the UN and its specialized agencies, as well as the UNIDO's measures to promote industry to ensure sustainable development.Minister Sahib Mammadov underscored that achieving the sustainable development goals is one of the main priorities of Azerbaijan’s economic policy.He also reiterated the close alignment of Azerbaijan’s socio-economic development strategy for 2022-2026 with the UN Development Agenda until 2030 facilitates the coordination of joint efforts.Deputy to the Director-General Fatou Haidara emphasized that the UNIDO is eager to support Azerbaijan within the COP29, adding that the organization is also keen on expanding cooperation within the process.The meeting also covered the discussions on the establishment of UNIDO's Investment and Technology Promotion Office in Azerbaijan, including project proposals towards the Cooperation Framework for 2022-2026 between the Government of Azerbaijan and UNIDO, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
