Azerbaijani diaspora in London prevents another provocation by Baroness Cox and Armenian diaspora

Baku, January 23, AZERTAC
The Azerbaijani community operating in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has prevented another provocation of the Armenian diaspora and its patrons.
Chairwoman of British Azerbaijanis Society Farida Panahova said that famous Carlton Club located in the center of London planned to host the event entitled “Armenia: The ethnic cleansing of Nagorno Karabakh” on February 5, 2024. The event was supposed to be organized by pro-Armenian Baroness Caroline Cox, who has a hostile attitude towards Turkic people and Islam religion, the Lord de Mauley TD who supports her, and Ambassador of Armenia to the United Kingdom Varuzhan Nersesyan.
Having learned about this, the British Azerbaijanis Society sent an open letter of protest to the management of the club on behalf of the Azerbaijani community living in the country. A copy of the letter was sent to British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, Members of Parliament, Members of the House of Lords Lord Evans, Lord Ahmed, Lord Kilclooney, Lord Sarfraz and Baroness Manzila Pola Uddin, Minister for Europe and North America Leo Docherty, Head of the Special Committee of the British Foreign Office Alicia Kearns, leadership of the Voice of Conservatives organization.
“The fact that this historical place planned to host a groundless event caused deep concern of the Azerbaijani community. At a time when Azerbaijan and Armenia are close to signing a peace treaty, the organization of this kind of event disrupts the prospects of peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and is completely contrary to the United Kingdom's position supporting peace and the country’s foreign policy,” the letter mentioned.
“The accusations of ethnic cleansing against Azerbaijan are completely unfounded, and the fact-finding missions of the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross have not found or registered any evidence of damage to civilian infrastructure caused in Garabagh or Azerbaijani authorities forcibly resettling civilians of Armenian nationality,” the letter said.
Recalling the example of Queen Mary University last year, the Chairwoman of the British Azerbaijanis Society called on the Carlton Club management to cancel the prejudicial event.
In an official letter sent to Chairwoman of British Azerbaijanis Society Farida Panahova, on behalf of the Secretary of the Carlton Club Simon Robinson, dated January 22, 2024, it was confirmed that this meeting would not take place in the Club. “This is another victory of our British diaspora over the Armenian diaspora and pro-Armenians," Panahova emphasized.
