Jadon Sancho completes Man Utd exit by sealing Borussia Dortmund return on loan

Baku, January 11, AZERTAC
Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the signing of Jadon Sancho, with the winger returning to Germany on loan from Manchester United, according to Mirror.
The 23-year-old will spend the rest of the season at Dortmund following a public falling out with manager Erik ten Hag, which has seen Sancho frozen out and forced to train alone after he refused to apologise.
Following United's 3-1 loss to Arsenal back in September, Ten Hag said Sancho had not made the squad because of his "performance in training". Sancho then hit back with a statement on social media that claimed the Dutchman's comments were "completely untrue" and that he had been made a "scapegoat".
United will bank a loan fee of around £3million from Dortmund, but the deal does not include an option for them to re-sign Sancho permanently. Mirror Football understands this is because the Bundesliga side simply cannot afford the player's £250,000-a-week wages.
It's understood that Dortmund are paying a £3m loan fee and will pay an additional £3.4m in add-ons if certain clauses are met, including Sancho playing all of their games and progressing in the Champions League.
Sancho said:. “When I came into the dressing room today, it felt like 'coming home'. I know the club inside and out, I've always been very close with the fans here, and I've never lost contact with those in charge. I can’t wait to see my teammates again, go out on the pitch, play football with a smile on my face, prepare goals, score goals and help qualify for the Champions League,”
The forward joined United in 2021 for £73m after an impressive first stint at Dortmund that saw him score 50 goals and provide 64 assists in 137 appearances for the club. However, he struggled to replicate that form at Old Trafford, having scored just 12 goals and provided six assists in 82 games.
United are hopeful Sancho can get back to his best during this loan spell, with a potential return to form at Dortmund expected to increase his chances of completing a permanent exit in the summer.
Sancho is the second United player to have left the club on loan this month, with midfielder Donny van de Beek also making the move to the Bundesliga as he joined Eintracht Frankfurt with a £12.1m option to buy.
And Ten Hag has admitted United could also make some new signings this month, having been without several stars due to injury and illness in recent weeks. "We consider everything," Ten Hag said following his side's 2-0 win over Wigan in the FA Cup third round.
"So what is in the best interests of the players and also the best interests for us, the team, for Manchester United. So we'll see how we progress during the window."
