Euronews Bulgaria TV Channel airs reportage on Azerbaijan

Baku, December 26, AZERTAC
Euronews Bulgarian TV channel has broadcast an extensive reportage about Azerbaijan on the occasion of the upcoming New Year and December 31 – the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day.
According to the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Bulgaria, the reportage featured interview with Azerbaijani Ambassador to the country Huseyn Huseynov, who has highlighted Azerbaijan-Bulgaria relations, prospects for bilateral relations, the rich culture of Azerbaijan, its traditions of multiculturalism, as well as regional security and the process of normalization between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Noting that the Azerbaijani-Bulgarian ties are based on friendship and strategic partnership, the ambassador said that these relations are dynamically developing, covering a wide range of sectors of cooperation.
“Azerbaijan provided assistance to Bulgaria during difficult times for the country and continues to support Bulgaria's attempts to transform the country into a regional gas and transportation hub. The Solidarity Ring project, signed in April this year in Sofia with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev, will enable Bulgaria to become a transit country for the transportation of Azerbaijani gas,” the ambassador mentioned.
In response to journalist’s questions about the regional situation, Ambassador Huseyn Huseynov underscored that the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict had been resolved, adding that the liberation of Azerbaijani territories offered historic opportunities for lasting peace and stability in the region. The Azerbaijani diplomat also highlighted his country’s efforts to normalize relations between the two countries, as well as sign a peace treaty.
The ambassador described Armenians attempt to unsuccessfully spread in the Bulgarian media their smear campaign against Azerbaijan as groundless. “The Armenians in Azerbaijan's Karabakh region voluntarily left their homes and relocated to Armenia. No violence was used against them, as confirmed by the UN mission. Azerbaijan has also launched an electronic portal to ensure sustainable reintegration of Armenian residents of the Karabakh reigon,” the diplomat added.
In his interview, the Azerbaijani ambassador highlighted the country’s rich culture, religious and ethnic diversity, and its centuries-old traditions of multiculturalism. The reportage also featured samples of Azerbaijan's traditional cuisine, such as dolma and plov, national pastries such as paklava and shakarbura, as well as Azerbaijani national dances and photos highlighting holiday festivities in Baku.
