The Azerbaijan national men’s and women’s volleyball teams will test their strength at the 2024 edition of the CEV Volleyball European Golden League to be played from May 17 to June 16.
The Golden League will feature 12 teams per gender.
Azerbaijan, Belgium, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Spain, Romania, Croatia, Austria, Estonia and Ukraine will be battling it out in the women’s event, while the men’s competition will see matches between Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Belgium, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Finland, Croatia, Spain, Macedonia, Estonia and Luxembourg.
The competition format has been modified compared to previous editions with the League Round spread across three and four weekends in the Golden and Silver League, respectively. This concept provides all participating teams with the opportunity to host a tournament on home soil - and to play two matches on the very same weekend before their own fans against two different quality opponents.
