As part of the working visit to China, the Baku State University (BSU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation with Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU).
The document was inked by Rector of BSU Elchin Babayev and BFSU President Yang Dan.
Rector of BSU Elchin Babayev highlighted the activities of the university, as well as the current education and teaching process. He also stressed the broad prospects for cooperation between Chinese universities and BSU in the fields of education, science and innovation.
BFSU Vice President Jia Dezhong emphasized that they are interested in expanding bilateral cooperation, exchanging students, academic and administrative staff, as well as conducting joint scientific research projects.
The MoU provides for the acceleration of the work between the two Universities to establish joint dual degree programs in the fields of science, education, and culture in the future, implementation of joint projects, development of academic, scientific and cultural exchange opportunities, cooperation in scientific research, exchange of bachelors, masters, joint organization of various events in other areas of mutual interest, including conferences, seminars, symposia, and trainings.
Established in 1941, Beijing Foreign Studies University, or BFSU, is one of China’s top universities under the direct leadership of the Chinese Ministry of Education. It is listed under Project 985, Project 211 and Double First-Class Project of China. Located in Haidian District, Beijing, it has two campuses- the West Campus and the East Campus, separated by the North Xishanhuan Road. Today, BFSU teaches 101 foreign languages, more than any other Chinese universities. It is the first in China to offer courses in some less commonly taught European, Asian and African languages.
BFSU has 121 bachelor’s programs, 44 of which are found exclusively at BFSU in China. The BFSU Library has nearly 1.45 million copies of printed books, over 2.22 million e-books, 1,123 periodicals, and 97 databases, all in Chinese and other languages and featuring mainly on language, literature and culture.
