Alliance of Turkic News Agencies issues statement on death of Anadolu Agency employee in Gaza
Baku, December 9, AZERTACT
"The Alliance of Turkic News Agencies (ATNA) condemns the death of Anadolu Agency's photojournalist Montaser Al-Sawwaf while performing his professional duty in the Gaza region, and calls for action to ensure journalists' safety," the General Secretariat of the Alliance said in a statement in this regard.
"A journalist fulfills his profession whether in easy or difficult conditions, because this is a duty towards society. For this reason, it is unacceptable to kill journalists, regardless of where they are.
We are deeply shocked by the death of media representatives in the Gaza region. We consider ensuring their safety in the conflict zone as a prerequisite. We express our condolences to the Anadolu Agency over the death of its employee, and share its grief," the statement added.
