Web Summit concludes in Portugal

Baku, November 17, AZERTAC
The Web Summit 2023 concluded on Thursday in Portugal after highlighting widespread growth in global technological ventures, according to Xinhua.
This year's edition focused on topics related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), which dominated discussions and presentations by startups.
The Summit's organizers announced a record number of over 70,000 participants from 153 countries.
Brazilian company Inspira won the "Final Pitch" after being chosen from 75 startups that took to the stage to present their projects.
The company has developed an "AI-powered legal assistant" to "optimize day-to-day tasks" for legal professionals, such as research, knowledge management, readings, analysis and report generation.
Portugal has 4,073 startups generating 25,000 jobs, according to a study by Startup Portugal, IDC and Informa D&B. "Since the beginning of the last decade, startup creation has grown every year," the study said, and "this growth has been intensifying to reach its peak."
Generative AI also garnered attention at the event, and was highlighted as a major accelerator in the world of technology. Meanwhile, concerns about regulation and ethical development of the internet dominated many presentations and debates, emphasizing the need to prevent the global computer network from fragmenting.
