Azerbaijan's contribution to reconstruction of Irpin – AZERTAC’s special REPORTAGE

The Kyiv suburb of Irpin is one of the most damaged settlements in the first days of the Russia-Ukraine war. During the heavy fighting for the city, residential buildings, medical facilities, schools and social infrastructure in more than 70 percent of Irpin were extensively damaged. According to preliminary estimates, more than $1 billion is needed to be allocated for the complete restoration and reconstruction of the city. Today, Irpin is being rebuilt.
AZERTAC's special correspondent prepared a reportage on the work done in Irpin city.
A number of foreign countries and international donors are taking part in construction and restoration works underway in the Ukrainian city of Irpin, with Azerbaijan topping this list. The assistance provided by the Azerbaijani state to the friendly Ukraine in the restoration of the city of Irpin is highly appreciated by the officials of Ukraine.
In his interview with AZERTAC, Deputy Mayor of Irpin Andrii Kravchuk provided detailed information about the work carried out in the city with the support of Azerbaijan.
“Currently, the reconstruction of Irpin is underway, with multi-storey buildings, private houses, social infrastructure, educational institutions, schools and kindergartens being rapidly restored. Azerbaijan directly involved in the restoration of the social infrastructure, namely of the Lyceum N12. We are sincerely grateful to Azerbaijan for its assistance. No country in the world has yet invested as much financial resources in the restoration of social infrastructure in Irpin city as Azerbaijan did. These funds are invested in the medical, educational sectors, and generally in joint social projects related to restoration," Andrii Kravchuk noted.
“Azerbaijan will also carry out major overhaul of the clinic in Irpin, which will be a milestone event in the city's life,” he added.
