Baku, October 11, AZERTAC President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Academician Isa Habibbayli has been unanimously elected an honorary member of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan.Academician Isa Habibbayli expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Academy for the trust shown. Highlighting the close ties between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, Isa Habibbayli emphasized that the steps taken by President Ilham Aliyev and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev towards the development of Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan relations gave impetus to the expansion of relations in the sphere of science.Touching upon the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation signed between the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan in the field of science during President Ilham Aliyev`s visit to Astana this April, Habibbayli noted that this document contributed to the development of Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan scientific relations.
