Baku Higher Oil School hosts closing ceremony of AKTA’s Cyber Summer School

The Baku Higher Oil School of SOCAR (BHOS) has hosted a knowledge competition, which was attended by participants of the international summer school "Cyber Summer School - 2023", organized for schoolchildren and teenagers aged 12-16, and the closing ceremony of the summer school.
Representatives of the relevant state institutions, embassies of foreign states in Azerbaijan and the leaderships of higher educational institutions spoke at the ceremony.
The summer school, held from July 24 to 29, was organized by the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Organizations Association (AKTA) with the support of Azerconnect LLC, Caspel, Cyberpoint, Techpro DC, Huawei Technologies and in partnership with Gesco, A2Z Technologies, CISCO, Azerobot.
The scope and international significance of Cyber Summer School has expanded even more this year. A total of 125 participants from Azerbaijan, Israel and Türkiye, as well as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, which are members of the Organization of Turkic States, took part in the summer school, held in English. Among the participants of Cyber Summer School - 2023 were also the children of Azerbaijani heroes who died for the Motherland.
The international summer school, held free of charge, was attended by teenagers aged 12 to 16 with essential knowledge and skills in English and Information Technology, who had successfully passed the competition.
Training and practical seminars organized at Baku Higher Oil School were conducted by experts from Azerbaijan, Israel and Türkiye. As part of the summer school, 20 experts conducted more than 20 trainings and practical seminars on various aspects of cybersecurity, and on July 29, a knowledge competition (CTF) was organized for the participants of the summer school.
The ceremony concluded with the awarding of the winning teams of the knowledge competition and the presentation of certificates to the participants of the summer school.
The main goal of the annual project, which has been conducted since 2021 is to foster friendly relations among summer school participants from partner countries, define and unite teenagers with knowledge, skills, and special hobbies in the field of cybersecurity, both in Azerbaijan and abroad, while also supporting the growth of cybersecurity specialists in this field.
