Baku, June 10, AZERTACAmerican automaker General Motors (GM) said it will adopt US electric carmaker Tesla's charging standard for its electric vehicles (EVs), according to Anadolu Agency.GM said it is collaborating with Tesla to integrate the North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector design into its EVs beginning in 2025.Customers of GM will be able to access 12,000 Tesla superchargers beginning in early 2024, which initially will require the use of an adapter, it said Thursday in a statement.The company noted that it will make adapters available for drivers of NACS-enabled vehicles to allow charging on capable fast-charge stations in the future."Our vision of the all-electric future means producing millions of world-class EVs across categories and price points, while creating an ecosystem that will accelerate mass EV adoption," said GM Chair and CEO Mary Barra.GM, in addition, said it will also integrate the Tesla supercharger network into its vehicle and mobile apps to help drivers quickly and easily locate, pay for, and initiate charging in the network.Ford, another US automaker, said last month it will include Tesla’s charging plug for its EVs to allow own customers to charge at Tesla superchargers without an adapter.
