Azerbaijani FM briefs Speaker of Slovak National Council on Armenian provocations

As part of his working visit to Slovakia, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with country’s Speaker of the National Council Boris Kollár.
During the meeting, they hailed the current level of relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia developing in the spirit of cooperation and friendship. The pair stressed the importance of combining efforts to further develop relations between the two countries and elevate them to the level of strategic partnership. They also described plans for establishment of Azerbaijani embassy in Slovakia as a remarkable event in terms of further enhancement of bilateral relations.
The discussions also revolved around the development of interparliamentary relations, mutual visits and bilateral meetings of parliamentary delegations as well as cooperation within international parliamentary organizations. They also stressed the importance of continuing bilateral cooperation in a multilateral format.
FM Jeyhun Bayramov briefed Slovak side on the process of normalization of the Azerbaijan-Armenia relations, Azerbaijan’s efforts towards promotion of peace agenda as well as Armenia’s military-political provocations hindering the peace process. He also highlighted intensive steps taken by Azerbaijan towards rehabilitation and restoration of territories affected by the conflict as well as reintegration of population. Jeyhun Bayramov highly appreciated Slovak investors and companies’ keenness to take part in joint investment and restoration projects implemented in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions.
Azerbaijani FM also informed the Slovak Speaker of the mine and explosives contamination of the liberated territories, describing it as a major obstacle to restoration and reconstruction process and ensuring safe return of Azerbaijani IDPs to their ancestral lands. He also praised cooperation with Slovakia in fighting mine problem.
Touching upon the cooperation in sphere of energy, Minister Bayramov said there is great potential for further development of cooperation in this field. He also expressed Azerbaijan’s interest regarding exchange of experience with Slovakia in fields of renewables, energy efficiency as well as use of energy storage technology.
Boris Kollár expressed his readiness to provide all-round support to further development of Azerbaijan-Slovakia relations. Recalling his visit to Azerbaijan with pleasure, Speaker Kollár said he is witnessing vast potential for cooperation.
The pair also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
