Baku, June 7, AZERTAC The 2nd Festival of Literature and Books of the Turkic World has started in Baku. The Festival is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev. The International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation is one of the co-organizers of the Festival. The organization's publications are presented at the exhibition on a specially decorated stand prepared by the Foundation. The opening ceremony of the Festival was attended by Chairman of the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan, People's writer Anar, Chairman of the Committee on Culture of the Milli Majlis Ganira Pashayeva, People's Poet of Azerbaijan Sabir Rustamkhanli, representatives of Turkic Cooperation Organizations, coordinator of the Festival, poet Khayal Rza.Speaking at the ceremony Project manager of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Mirbek Karybayev noted that the annual holding of the Festival has become a good tradition: "This year the Festival is especially significant because it is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader, founder and architect of independent modern Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. The main goal of the Festival, along with increasing interest in reading, is to promote the rich Turkic literature. And this directly meets the goals and objectives of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation. The main mission of the organization is the preservation of the centuries-old culture and heritage of the Turkic peoples, their popularization in the international arena and transmission to future generations. Within the framework of the Festival, the Foundation prepared various programs on days dedicated to the founding and observer countries of the organization: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Hungary. At the Festival, which lasts for 7 days, readers will be able to get acquainted with such publications of the Foundation as the book "Sagynbaidyn Manasy", the work of Suleyman Celebi "Mevlit", etc. Various cultural events will also be organized at the Festival, including: "The life and creativity of Abai Kunanbayev", "Mahdimgulu Faraghi and Azerbaijani Literature","The Pearls of Alisher Navoi", "Evening of the Poetry by Miklosh Radnoti".At the same time, with the support of the Foundation, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of prominent writer Chingiz Aytmatov, an excerpt from the play "Mother Field" staged by the Baku Municipal Theater under the auspices of the Foundation will be shown to the audience.
