Azerbaijani Foreign Minister meets with Israeli Knesset`s delegation

Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with the delegation of the Israeli Knesset led by Chairman of the Knesset Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense Yuli Yoel Edelstein, head of the committee’s diplomacy field Sarah Zwebner and member of the committee Ram Ben-Barak.
The meeting saw discussions on the current agenda of multifaceted cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel and developments in the region.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that over the past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, ties developing in various fields have reached the level of strategic partnership.
Recalling his official visit to the State of Israel in March, Minister Bayramov emphasized that mutual visits, political dialogue and close contacts played an important role in the development of relations.
The Foreign Minister noted that the agenda of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel in the political, economic, energy, cultural, humanitarian and innovative fields, the security, mutually beneficial relations, and the effectiveness of parliamentary diplomacy are the result of the two countries` efforts in the development of relations.
Chairman of the committee Yuli Yoel Edelstein hailed the development of relations based on mutual respect, support and friendship between Azerbaijan and Israel. He expressed his confidence that the opening of the embassy of Azerbaijan in Israel would serve to further strengthening relations.
During the meeting, the parties stressed the role of the Jewish community as a factor in development of relations.
The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
