F1 Roundup: Aston Martin, McLaren, And AlphaTauri unveil their 2023 cars

Baku, February 15, AZERTAC
It`s been a busy weekend for Formula 1 car reveals, with three teams unveiling their contenders for the 2023 season in the past three days, according to CarScoops. Additionally, all three teams, Aston Martin, McLaren, and AlphaTauri, all appear to have revealed their race-spec cars rather than just the livery, so let’s take a look.
The most recent of the cars to be revealed was the Aston Martin AMR23. Not much is new with this car in the livery department compared to its predecessor, but the updated mechanicals and aerodynamics promise to deliver success in the upcoming season – or at least that’s what the team hopes. Driving the Aston will be Fernando Alonso, who just joined the team this year after Sebastian Vettel’s retirement from the sport, and Lance Stroll, who has been with the team since the Racing Point days.
Earlier we saw the unveiling of the McLaren MCL60, named to commemorate the team’s 60th anniversary. The livery features the same black, orange, and blue as last year’s, but we’d argue there’s a much better balance of colors this time around. Google Chrome also seems to have a larger involvement with McLaren this year, with their logo now appearing prominently on the front wing and engine cover in addition to the wheels. Elsewhere, there’s a stylized “60” graphic that, once again, pays tribute to 60 years of the Woking-based team. Piloting the MCL60 will be Lando Norris and rookie Oscar Piastri, the latter of whom will be replacing a departing Daniel Ricciardo.
Finally, there’s the AlphaTauri AT04, which was revealed this past Saturday at the New York Fashion Week on account of the team’s involvement in the clothing industry. The car features AlphaTauri’s signature blue and white (albeit in a new pattern), but the biggest change is the splashes of red for sponsor Orlen, which, in our opinion, isn’t the best look. The car will be driven by incumbent Yuki Tsunoda and newcomer Nyck De Vries, Formula E champion who got the call to F1 after his stellar substitute performance in Italy last year. De Vries will be replacing Pierre Gasly, who made the move to Alpine after Fernando Alonso left to go to Aston Martin.
At this point, only 3 teams’ cars have yet to be revealed, and all will be shown before the end of the week.
