Moldova set to buy gas from Azerbaijan via Romania
Baku, February 4, AZERTAC
“Moldova intends to buy gas from Azerbaijan via Romania under a contract signed between SOCAR and Romgaz SA,” Speaker of the Parliament of Moldova Igor Grosu told TVR channel.
“Under this agreement, Azerbaijani gas will go through Turkiye to the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline and to Romania. This will also allow Moldova to buy it. We will use this additional source of gas,” the Moldovan speaker said.
“Gas from Romania to Moldova can be supplied via the Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline with a length of 43.2 km, which was built with the help of the EU back in 2014 and has not been used all these years,” Grosu added.
