Azerbaijani, Ugandan FMs hold phone talk

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uganda Odongo Jeje Abubakhar.
During the telephone conversation, the FMs discussed prospects for bilateral relations and issues of cooperation within the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) between Azerbaijan and Uganda.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov hailed the fruitful cooperation agenda between the two countries within the NAM and other international platforms. FM Bayramov informed his Ugandan counterpart about the preparation for the Summit-level Meeting of the NAM Contact Group in response to Covid-19 to be held in March of this year in Baku.
The sides hailed Azerbaijan’s successful chairmanship of the NAM since 2019, as well as its global initiatives that contributed to the development of organization. They stressed the importance of sharing Azerbaijan’s experience of successful chairmanship of the organization with Uganda as a next chair.
The sides also discussed the issues of preparation for the upcoming 19th NAM Summit to be held in December of 2023 in Kampala, the capital of Uganda.
During the conversation, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
