5.3-magnitude quake strikes western Indonesia

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 rocked off Indonesia's western province of Bengkulu on Saturday morning, the country's meteorology, climatology and geophysics agency said, according to Xinhua.
The quake occurred at 05:41 a.m. Saturday local time with its epicenter located at 55 km southwest of Kaur district and a depth of 18 km under the seabed, the agency reported.
The quake did not have the potential to trigger a tsunami, it added.
