Daley Blind set to join Bayern Munich as free agent

Baku, January 5, AZERTAC

Former Ajax defender Daley Blind is scheduled to undergo a medical with Bayern Munich ahead of a proposed move to the Allianz Arena, according to The Athletic.
If all goes to plan, Blind will sign for the German champions after agreeing to terminate his Ajax contract in December, six months before it was due to expire.
Blind was a key player for Louis van Gaal and the Netherlands during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, helping his nation reach the quarter-finals of the competition, where they were beaten by winners Argentina on penalties.
He rose through the academy ranks at Ajax and made his debut for the club in 2008, before being loaned to Groningen in 2010.
During the 2012-13 season, he was named Dutch footballer of the year after Ajax clinched their fourth consecutive Eredivisie title.
The 32-year-old had a four-year spell with Manchester United after signing for the club in 2014, winning the FA Cup, EFL Cup and Europa League during that period.
Blind then returned to Ajax in 2018 and played an integral role for the side that reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals in the following year.
Overall, Blind played 333 times for the Amsterdam club, scoring 13 goals and assisting 21 times.
