Türkiye suspends maritime traffic in Canakkale Strait due to heavy fog
Baku, January 3, AZERTAC
Türkiye closed the Canakkale Strait to ships due to heavy fog, authorities said, according to Anadolu Agency.
The Canakkale Strait Ship Traffic Services Directorate said in a statement that two-way ship traffic had been suspended through the strait as of 5.30 a.m. local time (0230GMT).
Captains of ships entering from the north and south were warned that the strait has been closed to two-way transit.
The fog, which had intensified in the morning, caused a decrease in visibility for sea travel.
