Baku, January 1, AZERTAC “As a result of the mine-clearing operations carried out in the liberated territories, in total, 8,780 anti-personnel mines, 4,133 anti-tank mines, and 14,000 unexploded ordnances have been detected and neutralized throughout the past year,” Azerbaijan’s Mine Action Agency said in a statement.“More than 41,915 hectares of the area in the liberated territories have been cleared of mines and unexploded ordnances by the engineer-sapper units over the past year.During the mine-clearing operations in Tartar, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Lachin, Khojavand, Shusha, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Jabrayil and Zangilan districts, 146 anti-personnel, 405 anti-tank mines, as well as 1370 unexploded ordnances (UXOs) were found and neutralized from December 1 to 30,As a result, 2263,1 hectares were cleared of mines and UXOs over the past month,” the agency added.
