Baku, November 2, AZERTAC With the organization of the National Defense University, the republican scientific-practical conference on the topic "Patriotic War: 44-day chronicle of victory" is being held, Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC.First, the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev, and shehids, who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, was honored with observing a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.Speaking at the conference, First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev conveyed the Defense Minister's greetings to the conference participants and noted that the reforms carried out in the Azerbaijan Army are based on scientific principles.It was brought to the attention of the conference participants that the instruction of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev on the development of the Azerbaijan Army in line with the model of the Armed Forces of fraternal Türkiye has borne fruit in both military and scientific terms.It was emphasized that the army model that meets the standards of the Turkish Armed Forces is the basis of a modern army and at the same time, it ensures compliance between the armies of Azerbaijan and Türkiye in military, military-technical, scientific and other issues.Noting that the Patriotic War has essentially become a national idea in achieving the liberation of Azerbaijan`s occupied territories, the Chief of the General Staff stressed that the Victory was gained due to the indestructible will of the Azerbaijani people, the leadership of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the interoperability of all types and branches of troops of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces, including the use of new methods and modern weapons.It was noticed that the Patriotic War, which ended with the glorious victory of the Azerbaijan Army, is being analyzed and studied by armies in many military-scientific centers of the world.Colonel General Karim Valiyev noted: “The successes achieved during the combat confrontations in 2021 and 2022, including in September of this year, proved that the reforms in the field of army development in the post-war period are carried out in an appropriate way. During the combat operations, the Azerbaijan Army inflicted serious damage to the military infrastructure of Armenia and increased military superiority over the enemy.”The Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army congratulated the conference participants on the upcoming November 8 – Victory Day and wished success in the work of the conference.Rector of the National Defense University, Professor, Lieutenant General Heydar Piriyev, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Science, Doctor of Philology Sciences, Academician, Honored Scientist Isa Habibbayli, Chairman of the Supreme Attestation Commission Under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Professor Famil Mustafayev, General Director of National Aerospace Agency, professor Natig Javadov, General Director of the Institute of Management Systems of the Ministry of Science and Education Republic of Azerbaijan, Academician Ali Abbasov, Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University, Professor Vilayat Valiyev, Chairman of the Board of the Social Research Center, Deputy Zahid Oruj and others also spoke at the scientific-practical conference.Then the scientific reports on national security, military, technical and humanitarian sciences, as well as military medicine were heard.In the end, videos about the National Defense University and the Patriotic War were shown to the conference participants.The scientific-practical conference will last until November 3.
