Baku hosts workshop on introduction of new generation mobile communication networks

A workshop on “Introduction of new generation mobile communication networks (IMT-2020/5G)”, jointly organized by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), has today started in Baku.
At the workshop, discussions are held on ICT technology trends, including 5G technology and its capabilities, application strategies and business models, spectrum allocation, infrastructure sharing, rationalization of existing networks and other related issues. Current 5G transition experiences in various countries are also discussed.
The event features presentations by experts from the International Telecommunication Union, the GSMA and other international organizations operating in this field.
In addition to the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and its subordinate agencies, experts from various government agencies and telecoms operators are participating in the workshop.
The workshop will run until 3 November.
