Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports attends 17th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers Responsible for Sport

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov has attended the 17th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers Responsible for Sport held in Antalya, Turkiye.
Minister Gayibov first joined the ministerial gathering of EPAS (Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport of the Council of Europe) member states on Tuesday.
The opening ceremony of the conference successfully kicked off on Wednesday. Addressing the conference, Minister Gayibov put forward proposals regarding the themes such as Gender equality: ensuring women’s equal participation and involvement, Sport as a means of inclusion: its role for disadvantaged groups and Sport for children: education, prevention and development.
Head of the international relations department of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Youth and Sport Namig Novruzov also attended the event.
The conference will also feature roundtable discussions on “Inclusion of migrants and refugees through sport: what are the key vulnerabilities and challenges?,” with Azerbaijani MP, Member and Rapporteur of the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Nigar Arpadarai to address the discussions.
