Anadolu Agency journo collects garbage from sea as part of environment forum

Anadolu Agency photojournalist collected garbage from the Marmara Sea in Istanbul as part of the environment forum on Thursday.
The first Environment Forum organized by Anadolu Agency, Türkiye’s leading news provider, kicked off in Istanbul to raise awareness of the climate crisis and environmental issues.
As part of the event, Sebnem Coskun dived with 30 kilos of equipment for half an hour, the water was about eight meters deep and around 16 degrees. She collected several plastic bags, bottles, two car tires, and several gadgets.
Additionally, numerous undersea sea animals were captured on an underwater camera.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed the opening of the forum via a video message.
Türkiye’s Communications Director Fahrettin Altun (via video), along with UNDP Türkiye Resident Representative Louisa Vinton, and Ovais Sarmad, the deputy executive secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) also addressed the event.
