Adil Akhundov to represent Azerbaijan at Red Bull Car Park Drift World Final in Saudi Arabia
Baku, October 17, AZERTAC
Sixteen local drifters on Sunday battled on the track during Azerbaijan’s first National Red Bull Car Park Drift Competition, with driver Adil Akhundov ultimately being crowned the country’s first-ever Red Bull Car Park Drift National Champion, who will represent Azerbaijan on the global track at the 2022 Red Bull Car Park Drift Finals set to take place in Saudi Arabia.
Driver Parviz Azizov was second, while Rauf Dadashzade rounded out the top three.
The national final round of the Red Bull Car Park Drift Championship was held in Baku for the first time with the organizational support of the Azerbaijan Automobile Federation (AAF) and the Baku City Circuit (BCC) Operations Company.
The winners were awarded by AAF President Anar Alakbarov and Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov.
Inspired by drifters navigating the tight corners and concrete posts and bollards of multi-storey car parks, this series is all about speeding around obstacle-strewn courses and performing drifting 'tricks' and tasks such as the 'pendulum', the 'spiral', the 'gate' and the 'flipper'.
