Baku, September 30, AZERTAC
The population of sheep outnumbers the population of people in Faroe Islands which means “Sheep Islands” in Danish.
According to Anadolu Agency, Faroe Island’s population is around 54,000, and the number of sheep in the country is over 80,000.
Sheep is the symbol of the country and they are resistant to cold.
In Faroe, which consists of 18 islands, many of the islands are connected to each other by tunnels. Some of these tunnels pass under the sea.
Life in the Faroe Islands is slow, with mostly empty and quiet streets, even in Torshavn, where half the country's population lives.
The majority of the people make a living from fishing in the country where most of the year is rainy and snowy that the number of sunny days is quite low.
