Atomium - popular tourist attraction in capital of Europe, an art centre and an international symbol of Brussels and Belgium

Baku, September 7, AZERTAC

The Atomium in Brussels is nine interconnected spheres intended to symbolize the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
Renovated as a major national event between 2004 and 2006, the Atomium - which was not intended to survive Brussels World's Fair (1958) for which it was the flagship construction - is today, with over 600,000 visitors per year, the most popular tourist attraction in the capital of Europe, an art centre and an international symbol of Brussels and Belgium.
This unique silhouette has been noticed for a long time and is very popular around the world.
A landmark in the Brussels skyline, a monumental structure halfway between sculpture and architecture and where the cube flirts with the sphere, a remnant of the past with resolutely futuristic looks, a museum and exhibition centre: the Atomium is both an object, a place, a space, a utopia and a unique emblem in the world which - ultimately - escapes all form of classification.
In addition to its heritage value, the Atomium is also a cultural place. Over half of the route is dedicated to exhibitions with themes about Belgium and digital arts.
Due to its unique structure in the world, its emblematic character and its resolutely futuristic aspect: the Atomium enjoys international recognition at an institutional, cultural and artistic level. This strong brand image offers many opportunities for collaboration, ranging from renting a part of the building to co-branding and filming.
