Melbourne Royal Exhibition Building - World Heritage-listed building in Australia

Baku, September 6, AZERTAC

The Royal Exhibition Building is a major historical place in Australia and is the first building in the country to receive the World Heritage status by UNESCO.
Built in 1880, the Royal Exhibition Building is beautiful inside and out—a true landmark of Melbourne.
Not only it is a museum that preserves the memory and culture, but it also hosts major gala dinners, top fashion shows, and other star-studded events.
Designed by architect Joseph Reed, the building’s architecture displays heavy influences from Byzantine, Romanesque, Lombardic and Italian Renaissance styles and this is one of the top historical places in Australia.
The property is typical of the international exhibition movement which saw over 50 exhibitions staged between 1851 and 1915 in venues including Paris, New York, Vienna, Calcutta, Kingston (Jamaica) and Santiago (Chile).
