Baku, August 30, AZERTAC The East-West Teaching University (EWUNI) is a good example of South Caucasus regional cooperation in education. The founder and first rector of Khazar University Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, who is also the member of Georgian National Academy of Science, with Georgian scientists are the founders of East-West Teaching University. Two medical institutions are essentially involved in the study process: Alexandre Aladashvili University Clinic and Tbilisi Balneological Resort, which have many years of medical and educational activities, and are currently ultra-modern medical centers. This is clear proof that the educational process in the university is closely linked to practical activities, which is helpful in establishing a successful student practitioner.At this stage the university's primary task is to implement One-Cycle Medical Doctor educational program in medicine. Instruction takes place in English language. Program is Internationally accredited. The priorities are, on the one hand, the use of modern methods and technology in teaching, as well as the use of latest advances in science, and the latest literature, while on the other hand, the traditions of Georgian medicine are rich and important for the growth and development of the future generation of doctors.The program is developed by the group, which includes the representatives of selected academic and administration staff. The curriculum is based on the content and form of the Medicine National Field Specification Document. The curriculum is the result of collective labor, judgment, and discussion of all members of the group and is based on the experience accumulated through participating in medical education, and at the same time modern approaches in international practice. Medical Doctor Educational Program includes one-cycle integrated medical education, where the successful graduate is awarded with the academic degree of medical doctor. University is an internationally recognized center for quality education in Medicine and health care, where students and academic staff are provided with comfortable environment for their personal and professional development in order to make them to develop common public values and the development and implementation of the principles of continuous education.The university aims for further development of educational environment in the light of modern international standards, which will respond to modern challenges with high quality educational programs.
