Baku, August 17, AZERTAC On August 19, the agricultural products fair will be held in Zagatala district with the participation of projects included in the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) - Azerbaijan Partnership Program and financial support from the European Union.The importance of local food products, food safety and healthy nutrition will be brought to the participants' attention by presenting products and works of food heroes at the “Kend Bogchasi” farmers' fair. Guests attending the event can get acquainted with unique products, taste dishes prepared by local chefs and support small-holder farmers.During the fair, three projects from the FAO-Azerbaijan Partnership Program (increasing the economic empowerment of women, increasing the agricultural employment of youth, creating a value chain for the sustainable development of sheep farming and the production of food products) and one project implementing with the financial support of the European Union and the organization of the FAO (the northern part of Azerbaijan development of sustainable and inclusive local agro-food systems in the western region) will exhibit their service and products.The farmer's fair is to present local food and agricultural products and attract potential buyers and consumers to those products. The organization of the fair will contribute to the promotion of regions, regional products and traditions and stimulate the area's sustainable development. One of the main goals of the fair is to improve the incomes and livelihoods of the rural population by supporting the connection of producers to the market and small business enterprises with a value chain approach.“Creating inclusive and sustainable agri-food systems for better production, nutrition and lives without leaving anyone behind is one of our common goals,” FAO said.
