Georginio Wijnaldum signs for Roma
Baku, August 6, AZERTAC
AS Roma is delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, according to the official website of the club.
Wijnaldum, 31, joins the Giallorossi on an initial loan deal from French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
As part of the agreement, there is an option for the transfer to be made permanent at the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
“It’s a really good feeling to be a Roma player,” Wijnaldum said.
Wijnaldum, the current captain of the Netherlands national team, has enjoyed an illustrious career to date: representing Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven, Newcastle United, Liverpool and PSG at club level.
He has won the Champions League, Premier League and Ligue 1 already in his career, alongside domestic cup success in both England and the Netherlands.
He becomes the club’s latest summer signing, joining the likes of Paulo Dybala, Nemanja Matic, Zeki Celik and Mile Svilar in joining Jose Mourinho’s squad in the Italian capital.
