First regular Baku–Fuzuli–Baku intercity bus route to be launched on June 25

The State Road Transport Service under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport continues to create regular bus routes in the most needed directions, taking into account the safety of transportation and passengers to the territories liberated from occupation. As part of the expansion of passenger traffic to the Karabakh region, a regular intercity bus route Baku-Fuzuli-Baku will be launched on June 25.
In order to ensure the safety and continuity of traffic, the Azerbaijani President’s Special Representative for the Karabakh Economic Region and employees of the State Road Transport Service have inspected the destinations and road infrastructure. They have also evaluated the route, developed a traffic scheme and identified parking lots. Also, in accordance with Decision No 52 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated April 3, 2009, to determine the carriers, a tender was announced on April 6, 2022 by the State Road Transport Service on the regular intercity bus route Baku-Fuzuli-Baku. The tender was held on May 12, 2022, and a natural person Khalig Rustamov was announced the winner. On May 20, 2022, an agreement was concluded with him for the provision of services for the transportation of passengers by road.
Routes will be operated once a week on Saturdays. At the initial stage, passengers will be able to visit the Merdinli village mosque, the center of the city of Fuzuli and Fuzuli International Airport. At the next stage, it will also be possible to visit Iba sanctuary, Garamammadli spring, Garghabazar Caravanserai complex and Dovletyarly village (smart village). When visiting religious, cultural and historical monuments, citizens will be accompanied by guides.
Tickets will be sold online starting from June 17, through the www.yolumuzqarabaga.az portal.
Passengers must book return tickets in advance at the same time.
Some categories of people will be able to benefit from free tickets on this route. This category includes the heroes of the Patriotic War, national heroes, members of martyr families, invalids of the Karabakh War.
Drivers carrying passengers on the regular intercity bus route Baku-Fuzuli-Baku have been involved in mine safety trainings by the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) and they were provided with instruction manuals on basic safety rules.
Mine safety videos will be shown on buses to inform and instruct passengers. Each seat will also have a brochure with instructions on mine safety.
The buses will be accompanied by crews of the Interior Ministry’s road patrol service to ensure traffic safety. Police officers are also expected to be on the buses.
