Gorgeous glowing beach of Maldives
Baku, June 13, AZERTAC
On certain areas around the world, the beaches glow with magical blue like tiny neon dots and makes it look like stars are washing up on shore. The reason for the shore and waves having these neon blue spots is due to a chemical reaction called “bioluminescence”, it is what happens when a microorganism in the water is disturbed by the oxygen.
Vaadhoo Island Maldives is a wonder of nature attracting travelers throughout the world to see this beautiful blue light on the shore.
Vaadhoo Island is located on the equator to the south west of Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean.
Visitors have had the most luck seeing the blue glow during July to February, especially during a new moon since the darkness of the sky helps intensify the light. As waves break on the sandy shore or if you step bare foot into wet sand a bright green-blue glow appears like an aura.
